| There has been considerable progress in the past 21 days with regards to interaction between involved parties. The proposition submitted by IOI and the comments received from the local community and complainants have been vigilantly reviewed by the RSPO. The RSPO is working closely together with IOI towards a clear and responsible roadmap to address the issues related to this grievance. However, this necessitates some additional time beyond the stipulated deadline of 25th May 2011. We will keep all the stakeholders and public notified on the final decision very soon. | In a letter to IOI Corporation Berhad on 4 May 2011, the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) has confirmed the receipt of IOI’s action plans with regards to the grievances filed with RSPO in March. While IOI’s trade in certified sustainable palm oil remains unaffected, RSPO will take another three weeks to seek feedback from the complainants. IOI welcomes RSPO’s pro-active role to jointly work on this process. RSPO was invited by IOI to become more involved in the process as described in our response to RSPO that was submitted on 29 April 2011. | Wormerveer, The Netherlands, 6th April 2011 - The trade and supply of sustainable palm oil by IOI Loders Croklaan is in no way affected by the RSPO ruling that was published on Tuesday, April 5. The RSPO suspended the ongoing audits and certifications for IOI units to be RSPO certified, but not trade. The company feels the need to correct an inaccurate press release about IOI from Dutch NGO Milieudefensie issued today, falsely stating the sustainability certificate of IOI is suspended. | On the 27th of October, a seminar on sustainable palm oil under auspice of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) was held in Düsseldorf/Neuss, Germany. The seminar was organized by IOI-Loders Croklaan Europe, an executive board member of the RSPO. It included presentations from RSPO members such as Unilever, WWF Germany, Oxfam as well as German retailer REWE Group. Approximately hundred participants – mostly representatives from the European food industry - attended the seminar. | ||

| At the 4th Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil a new executive board of 16 members was elected. IOI/Loders Croklaan submitted itself as a candidate for this important leadership group and was very successful. Don Grubba will serve in this role in his position as Global Sustainability Director for the coming two year term. The timing of this appointment is significant as the RSPO will be determining the auditing/verification program for sustainable palm as well as a credible and practical supply chain mechanism to bring the oil to market. These important decisions will be taken during the coming months. | ||
